Robert ‘Bob’ Hoffman Sr, was awarded the 2020 Citizen of the Year of Tewksbury Township. Bob, a life long resident of Tewksbury Township, passed away last year. Due to COVID 19, the presentation of the award to his wife Dotty was purposefully delayed so the presentation could be made in person. Peter Melick, past mayor, presided over the honors. Bob was a life longer farmer in the township and served as a 4-H leader. He was also a school bus driver for 58 years, serving Tewksbury township. Bob served in many leadership positions within the township including the Chief of the Fairmont Fire Company and President of the Oldwick Fire Company, He was recognized for his many roles within the Township that have contributed to the overall quality of life Tewksbury citizens enjoy.

The membership of the Oldwick Fire Company is sad to announce the passing of Webster B Todd jr, known to the fire company as Dan Todd.
Webster B. “Dan” Todd Jr. passed away on June 3, 2021 at his home in Bernardsville, New Jersey. He was born December 1, 1938 to Webster B. Todd and Eleanor S. Todd of Oldwick, New Jersey. Dan graduated from Millbrook School and Princeton University ’61 with a BA in Geology.
Dan was a Renaissance Man having lived a full life. He was an avid outdoorsman, licensed fishing guide, pilot, marine captain, golfer, hockey player and coach, race car driver, a musician, rancher, and was involved in a number of real estate business endeavors. Dan’s political involvement spanned many decades. In addition to his turn in the New Jersey State Assembly, he worked on numerous campaigns both presidential and statewide.
Dan was the founder and owner of Princeton Aviation Corporation in Princeton, New Jersey. He served in the New Jersey State Assembly in 1968. In 1973, Dan was appointed Deputy Special Assistant to the President, White House Personnel Office. In 1974, Dan became Inspector General of Foreign Assistance and Assistant Secretary, United States Department of State. In 1976, he served as Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board in Washington, DC. He was Director of Engineering and Air Safety for the Airline Pilots Association International AFL-CIO, Washington, DC. Dan was President, COO, and Director of Frontier Airlines, Denver, Colorado. After working for Frontier, he founded Fishook Land and Cattle Company, a ranch real estate investment company, in Livingston, Montana. Along with ranching in Montana, he was a certified mountain search and rescue pilot and certified firefighter. Dan was a Professor at The Ohio State University, Ohio and Monmouth University, New Jersey.
Dan also served on the Somerset County Library Commission; and as a Trustee of The Millbrook School, the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, the Air Safety Foundation; and as a member of the Committee on Aviation Safety Engineering, the Colorado Forum, the NJ Commerce and Economic Growth Commission and the Tewksbury Township Agricultural Advisory Board. Dan was president, trustee and a member of the Oldwick, NJ Volunteer Fire Company. Dan was a member and also served as Chairman of the Board of the New Jersey Aviation Association; and a member and Governor of the QB Association. In October 2015 Dan was awarded by the United States Federal Aviation Administration, The Wright Brothers “Master Pilot Award” for fifty years dedicated service in aviation safety. In 2019 he was inducted into the New Jersey Aviation Hall of Fame.
Dan is survived by his wife, Barbara Todd of Bernardsville, NJ and his six children: son, William Todd and wife Betsy; daughter, Whitney Zimmerman and husband Kevin; son, James Todd and wife Nikki; daughter, Elizabeth Todd; daughter, Claire Todd and daughter, Margaret Todd. Dan is also survived by four grandchildren: Wyatt Todd, Graceley Todd, Caden Zimmerman and Ben Zimmerman; and his sister, Christine Todd Whitman. Dan was preceded by both his parents, sister Kate Beach and brother John Todd.

Mutual Aid Extrication Drill – May 23 2021
Members of the Oldwick Fire Company, Tewksbury Rescue and Whitehouse Rescue practice extrication techniques on two vehicles on Sunday morning May 23, 2021. Patient safety, vehicle stabilization, vehicle equipment awareness [e.g. airbag equipment], command and extrication tool use were reviewed.

April 19, 2021 Mutual Aid Drill
On April 19, 2021 the Oldwick Fire Company drilled with mutual aid fire companies and rescue squads: Tewksbury Rescue, Whitehouse Rescue, Califon Fire, and Pottersville Fire. Tactics, and a review of equipment location capability and location were conducted.

George Apgar passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021. He was a life member of the Oldwick Fire Company and served in many roles including twice as Chief of the company. George will be dearly missed.
Oldwick Fire Company – New Vehicle

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN the Oldwick Fire Company located in Oldwick, New Jersey [the Issuer], will allow for public comment on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 7 PM., via the following local telephone number 908-439-2448, for the purpose of holding a public hearing pursuant to the requirements of Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended on a proposal the Issuer enter into an agreement to finance certain equipment. The equipment to be financed consists of One (1) 2011 Pierce Qantum Rescue Pumper VIN#4P1CU01E2BA011467 and will be maintained at the fire station in Oldwick, NJ.
To finance the costs of such equipment and pay costs and expenses incidental to the financing, the Issuer proposes to enter into a loan agreement with a maximum aggregate principal amount not to exceed $246,000. The Issuer will be required to pay all taxes on the equipment. The rental payments due pursuant to the loan agreement will be secured by a security interest in the equipment.
All persons interested may phone in and be heard at said time and place or may file written comments with the Oldwick Fire Company prior to the date of hearing set forth heretofore.
